We welcome CapU students, staff, faculty and the wider off-campus community to join. You don't need to be able to read music. Just bring your voice, your curiosity, and your willingness to learn and have fun.
CapU Choral Ensemble:
The Choral Ensemble is an auditioned credit course open to students from all programs who have prior choral experience.
We rehearse twice weekly, exploring a diverse repertoire that supports our growth as choral singers while engaging with music from a range of eras and styles.
CapU Campus Choir:
CapU students, faculty and staff from all programs and departments join voices with members of the wider community to breathe and sing together.
We gather for two hours every Wednesday evening to sing, learn and enjoy music and social connection.
Director / Conductor:
Dr. Hussein Janmohamed is a choral conductor, composer, educator, and storyteller whose work bridges cultural, spiritual, and artistic worlds.
Hussein has sung with leading ensembles such as the Elmer Iseler Singers, Chor Leoni, the National Youth Choir of Canada, and the UBC Singers.
As a conductor, he has led choirs across diverse community, academic, and professional settings, cultivating artistry alongside inclusion, cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.
